CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is considered to be the therapy of choice for many emotional/anxious diorders.  It can be very effective for OCD, phobias, anxiety disorder, etc.  CBT is a fairly short term psychological therapy.   It looks at what we think, what we feel and how we then react in certain situations. 

It is a combination of cognitive therapy and behavioural therapy.  It helps us by looking at unwanted thoughts, beliefs and attitudes and then the behaviour in response to those very thoughts.  For instance, let's say we have someone with an anxiety disorder who is using avoidance as a coping strategy.  An example would be travelling on public transport alone, they may believe they are going to have a panic attack and then feel as if they are going to die.  So rather than risk those felings coming up they just avoid the situation or take drugs, thereby maintaining the very disorder they don't wish to have.  With practical techniques, support and increased tolerance levels they can begin to have a more rational outlook and take healthier actions to overcome their feelings.  When we add in hypnosis this can really accelerate the desired results.

EFT

Originally Emotional Freedeom Technique (EFT) came from Thought Field Therapy which Dr Roger Callaghan, a psychotherapist, developed. It has been around for about 25 years.  EFT Discovery Statment says that "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

EFT has helped thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues, even trauma. It's rather like acupuncture without needles. We use a sequence of tapping movements on our meridian points to clear blockages and it is very effective, especially when combined with other forms of coaching or therapy, like hypnosis. Unresolved emotional issues may cause pain and blockages which EFT can help release in a very short time, sometimes 1 session.
