WEEKLY COACHING TIP #129
THE POWER TO
CHANGE (PART 2)
If you downloaded the
Goals List
form last week's tip, you should now have some
thoughts and ideas around the various areas of your life you want to focus
on for 2005.
But before that, what about 2004? How has
your year been?
Step 1: REVIEW 2004
-
If you actually set your goals last year by
writing them down, get your paper out.
-
Otherwise look at the
Goals List
from last week and the areas you may have consciously or sub-consciously
tried to improve/begin in 2004.
-
Look at it and notice what has
happened: what has still stayed the same and what goals may have changed for
you.
-
What specifically helped you to achieve
them, or not?
Step 2: PREPARE 2005
-
Now, what do you truly desire from each or
some of these areas listed on the
Goals List?
-
Just before you begin formulating what you
truly want, write down on a piece of paper what you don't want, whether it's
about 'things' or 'feelings':
-
I don't want to feel like ... .e.g. I
don't want to feel like life is a struggle
-
I don't want to not have ... e.g. I don't
want to not have lots of money
-
I don't want ... e.g. I don't want a new
career
Got the idea. Really go to town on your
'don't wants'. What this does is helps you to become clearer on the
'pain' or at least the not very pleasant feelings of what you don't want.
-
Once you have done this you can get clarity
on the things you really want.
-
So lets turn around the 'I don't wants
above', e.g.
-
I feel really happy and connected in my
life with an inner joy
-
I have an abundance of money that comes
to me in amazing ways, through the work I do, the people I attract
-
My work is now something I love doing and
I contribute in fantastic ways that keep me happy and other people benefit
too
The idea here is that you really get some
emotion into what you do want. This is helping you set up your internal
system to focus on your goals and begin to heighten different vibrations
in your being to attract more of what you do want. You really need to
visualise having achieved your goal(s) so you are in fact working
backwards and can see the steps you need to take to get where you want.
Step 3: ONE YEAR GOALS
-
Open the
One Year Goal form.
-
Print it off and write down you 3-5 main
goals.
Step 4: ACTIONS
TOWARDS YOUR GOALS
-
Open the
Action Towards Goals
form.
-
Print it and write in your goals and the
date when you ideally would like to achieve them.
-
Look at the possible obstacles and
solutions.
-
After that, it's crucial you put in your
first action step, making sure you really can and will do it with a date.
-
When you've done this for all your goals,
think about the second and third steps and write them in your diary. ACTION
IS THE KEY!
-
After you have done this, have a big cup of
tea!
-
Then put them somewhere where you have to
see them at least daily. Don't forget to decide which is going to be your
first action step, then the next and the next. Otherwise it becomes a
wish list!
-
You may also want to refer back to the
WCT archive
(there's a new search engine just for the tips) and read some of the tips
around goal setting and visualising. It really helps the process
