WEEKLY COACHING TIP #142 HOW DO SLENDER PEOPLE THINK? READ ON FOR DETAILS OF FREE TELECLASS Well, even though the weather belies it, Spring is here, apparently! This is the time of year most of us are thinking a little more (often critically) about our bodies and baring them or not! What about you? Do you love your body, warts and all, or do you have shameful feelings about it? Is food a constant thought in your mind, either about eating too much or trying not to eat too much? Do you just wish you could get over it and eat things which are naturally good for you and ENJOY them, without guilt or other negative emotions? We have become, in the west, a world besotted about weight and body image. For years I have been dealing with clients who have weight issues and I have used many techniques and fused many of them together for great results. This is something I really want to share with as many people as possible, so Ive decided to offer a FREE TELECLASS on this topic; I would specially recommend it for people who, for years, have dieted and struggled with their weight. So please forward on this Tip to anyone you think would benefit. However, today I would like to share with you an NLP strategy called The Naturally Slender Eating Strategy There are many issues connected with being over weight. However, this tip is centred on how a naturally slender person thinks in relation to food. It is a strategy devised by Connirae Andreas, a very experienced NLP practitioner in America. When I first read this strategy about 3 years ago, I was surprised to notice, its almost exactly the same as my strategy, which I have being doing for years (unconsciously). Note though, I hadnt done this all my life, as my values changed so did my eating habits. The Naturally Slender Eating Strategy Note: This thinking process is usually done unconsciously and very quickly by slender people, however, until it becomes natural, we need to break it down and make it conscious. 1 Something makes me think of food. It might be seeing that its time for lunch, hearing people talk about food or seeing food. 2 I check how my stomach feels right now. 3 I ask myself: What would feel good in my stomach right now? 4 I visualise a type of food I may want 5 Then I feel the food slipping into my stomach, and I get a feeling of how this amount of this food will feel in my stomach and intestine over time if I eat it now. 6 If I like this feeling better than how I would feel by not eating at all then I keep this food item as one possibility. If not, I discard it. 7 Now I visualise another food I might eat and repeat step 5 & 6 8 Do I like it more than my best choice so far? I keep in mind the food item that makes me feel best, to compare to my next choice. 9 Now I repeat step 5 & 6 as often as I want to, always keeping in mind the kind of food that I imagine would make me feel the best over time if I eat it. I compare each new possibility to that. 10 When Im satisfied that I have considered enough options, I eat the food that I imagined would make me feel best over time, so that Ill get to feel that good. To someone who isnt naturally slim, you might be thinking, What, do you never eat chocolate or chips, etc?. Well yes sometimes, but in small amounts. Personally I never deprive myself, it just doesnt work. Essentially what keeps naturally slim people from eating really fattening foods such as chips, is the thought of that disgusting grease in the stomach and the feeling of heaviness and bloatedness later on and the tight feeling of clothes. However, eating something really tasty and healthy feels good when they imagine that in their stomachs.
