WEEKLY COACHING TIP #179
AUM
I was listening to a CD the other day by Greg Braden, a scientist who has been
on the spiritual quest for many years and who has brought us some amazing
insights from the ancients, which we have all but forgotten these days. One of
the things on this CD was a story, which briefly, went something like this. He
was in Tibet staying with monks and he asked one of the monks if he could watch
them praying and see exactly what they did. These monks sometimes prayed and
chanted for 18 hours a day! The monk said, you cannot see our prayers, you can
see the things we do to put our minds and bodies into a state of communion but
you dont see prayers, they are an inner feeling. The things we do help us
achieve the feeling.
Eastern cultures recognise that the body has a resonance with certain
sounds/vibrations that is why chanting and for example, the ringing of bells are
so important. They arent just random sounds they are based on thousands of
years of wisdom and tradition.
I wanted to share with you today a very simple exercise that I personally like
and have definitely received benefit from:

Think of a
desire (goal) you currently want in your life, anything at all.

Write it
down; get as specific as you can. Try to get it as succinct as possible into
one short sentence. Make sure its in the present tense (the sub conscious
only deals in the now), e.g. Im now enjoying good/great health or I have
an abundance of love in my lifeetc.

Visualise
having your desire/goal, make a movie of it, get a sense of it for real.

Say your
sentence out loud with feeling.
-
Sit in a
meditative or relaxing posture
-
Close your
eyes, breathing slowly, naturally.
-
On your out
breath let the sound
AUM come out.
When you pronounce AUM:
A (as
in Heart)
- emerges from the throat, originating in the
region of the navel
U (as in Should)
- rolls over the tongue
M - ends on the lips

At the end of
the breath and sound, allow your body to take a natural breath in (no forcing)
and do it again, 3 times in all.

After this
see, feel and hear you having already achieved your desire. Remember, this is
about getting into the feeling of having your goal. You pray as if its
already happened.

Enjoy this
for as long as you like.

At the end of
this silently give thanks, real gratitude that this has already happened. Do
this to your Higher Self, God, the Universe, whatever is right for you.

End with 3
more AUMs.

Open your
eyes and act as if your desires have come true NOW! (This is the stretch)
The great thing about doing this is that it really focuses you on what you want
and the sound you make is a Universal sound, which has been around for thousands
of years. It has the capacity of changing the vibration in your body. I know
when I do it I feel incredibly calm, centred and uplifted inside. This whole
practice can take as little as 5 minutes for you to begin manifesting your
desires. I find more and more when I work with clients who are open to this way
of working, it can produce great results, because ultimately, they are changing
their inner self first, which we have to before we manifest in the outer,
physical world.
Try it and see, after all, if nothing else you would have gained a calm, focused
mind and body and that alone has got to be worth it. Stick with though, and you
will begin seeing results.
Onwards and upwards! Speaking of which we will be moving next week so there
