WEEKLY COACHING TIP #190 BREAKING THROUGH Good Morning to you I hope this WCT finds you on good form and feeling great about your life! Since Im currently feeling on top of the world now, I feel I would like to share with you part of those reasons, maybe some of it will resonate with you and inspire you to embark on a journey of doing something you really want in your life. I spent last weekend on a 2 day seminar lasting about 12 hours each day. There were 300 people on this seminar all there for one reason, to feel better about something in their lives, or, to break through some barrier and achieve a goal, which was the case for me. Its interesting, as a coach Im fairly good at coaching myself and discovering whats holding me back or pressing buttons, but sometimes you are just too close to the whole thing to get clarity and I was fed up with feeling stuck in this area. Ive been working on a goal on and off now for about 18 months, its something Im passionate about and a much needed service to a great deal of the population. HOWEVER, I still wasnt taking any real action towards it and knew all the reasons why, fear of failure, losing money, can it really work, etc Now it was time to do something about it. Although I felt I would probably know most of what was going to be presented at this seminar, as we have similar skills (hypnotherapy and NLP), I still needed to have that input and have someone else ask the questions instead of it all being inside my head. Sometimes one needs distance to get clarity. So, what happened? Well, apart from smashing through an inch thick piece of wood with my bare hand first time, walking on hot coals and bending a steel rod with my throat, not a lot really! I have to say that I really was thrilled when I broke that board in two; it was truly symbolic for me. I re-inforced it as soon as I broke it to anchor in I can do anything, so that in the future when I access that state Ill feel as if I really can do anything. Its great to set your goals and then when obstacles appear, fire the anchor so you really feel as if you can overcome them easily. Any goal you may have been working on consciously or unconsciously for some time is generally one we have a big fear around. We sometimes know what is holding us back but cant seem to get out of that limbo state. I was interested to watch people standing in a huge circle whilst 4 or 5 people were in the process of trying to break the board. After a while watching some of the men and women who were not able to do it, even after 3 or 4 attempts, I realised, I was beginning to get doubts as to whether I could do it. I could actually feel my physiology changing, very subtly, for the worse, yet I started right at the beginning of this process being certain I could do it. However, as I continued to watch, I felt more and more doubtful. As soon I caught myself thinking it, I literally shook myself out of that state and began watching people again, but this time to see what they were doing incorrectly, so I didnt repeat it. Then I turned my attention to the ones who were doing it correctly and modelled their behaviour. I got into a really high state of energy and absolute certainty then I jumped into the middle and said Im ready. I did it with my conscious brain nowhere in sight as I broke through that board first time. I was elated, as I said it was very symbolic for me. Returning to the outer edge of the circle it was interesting to see the men and women who still were not getting it. I began to notice a pattern. Sometimes they just had their stance wrong or their energy was all over the place (probably in life too), so there was no way they were going to be able to break it. Another thing that happened was that often they would stop just short of the board (just short of their goal in life) or they would hit it off centre (a very good chance they were off centre in their own lives). Sometimes they would end up in tears and feel so down on themselves that they were never going to be able to break it in that state, instead of keeping focused on what they want. I really felt for them, it would have been so easy if they would take that leap of faith and just know it was going to work. We are constantly evolving beings and as I say to my clients, you either walk this path consciously or sleep walk, like most of the population. If you do decide to become conscious in your own life, living with awareness, immediately you have raised the bar on your life, then you feel more able to take those risks because you vibrate at a different level, and universe steps in to favour the bold. So where in your life can you step up, raise the bar? What is that dream youre keeping on hold? What do you have to be or do to have it? Does it mean, being more courageous, more disciplined, more focused? What could you dare to do, one action you could take NOW to help you break through the barrier (that you made up in your mind) to come out the other side and have what you want? Every little bit we do that helps our personal self development is like another piece of the jigsaw, another part of our potential, helping us to become what we can become, so that we naturally fall into alignment with all that is. Then you will attract, you cant not, when you vibrate at that level. Come out of the sleep walking and claim what you want once and for all. All the fear lies in your own imagination, so start using it for the things that you want, simple really! Until next week, onwards and upwards and keep on breaking through your barrier! |
